Diana Maria Tafur

Diana Tafur, aged 54, passed away October 5, 2024. She was a beloved daughter, sister, auntie and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Diana was born in 1970 in Lima, Peru. She moved to Minnesota when she was 10 years old. Diana attended the University of Minnesota where she obtained a bachelor's degree in Chemical and Agricultural Engineering. Ever the caregiver, Diana felt a calling to the nursing profession. Initially she obtained her RN from Anoka Ramsey community college before going on to obtain her Master's in Nursing from Metro State University. From then on she worked as a Nurse Practitioner with a penchant for community health nursing.
Throughout her career, she was known for her hard work, dedication, and passion for helping others; she was a mentor to many of those around her. Diana found that providing care to the most vulnerable in our community was the most rewarding. She most recently worked as a Nurse Practitioner at United Family Medicine. She was also immensely proud of the work she did with St. Mary's Health Clinics, an organization that provides free necessary and accessible health services to the medically uninsured and underserved. Diana volunteered with St. Mary's for 32 years.
Diana was immensely proud to be an auntie, she was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement to her nieces and nephew. She loved crafting, the outdoors and sci-fi. She was an avid Trekkie and loved to spoil her fur babies Candy and Moe (d. 2019).
Preceded in death by her father (Cesar) and brother (David), Diana is survived by her mother (Ana Maria), her sisters (Ana & Jenny) and nieces (Alexis, Christina, & Daphne) and nephew (Jason). Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held October 14th at Washburn-McReavy Funeral Chapel in Shoreview 515 Hwy 96 W, Shoreview, MN 55126. Visitation will begin at 10am, with services 11am. A luncheon will be served immediately following services. We welcome all who cared for her to join us in celebrating her memory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Mary's Health Clinics.
