Diana M. Wilson, 73, of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. A lifelong resident, she was born in New York, NY on May 8, 1949 and was the daughter of the late Phillip and Vera Popovero. She was the owner with her husband of Joseph's Italian Steakhouse. She was a member of St. Peter's Church and loved to travel. Family was a big part of her life. On November 6, 1980 Diana married Joseph R. Wilson in Holy Trinity Church and he survives her at home. In addition to her husband, Diana is survived by her children; daughter Debra Wilson Persecepe (Robert) of Southport, NC, son Stephen J. Starzyk, Jr., (Danielle) of Poughkeepsie and daughter Sara L. Burlingame (Mark) of Poughkeepsie. In addition, she is survived by grandchildren Nicholas, Jordan, Justin, Daniel, Mitchell, Brooke, Mark Jr. and Max. As well as great-grandchildren, Alicia, Aiden and Avery McKeon, Liam and Declan Percesepe and Addison Card. Diana loved her family, cooking and the occasional trip to the casino with her sister in law Carol. Diana and her husband Joseph shared multiple businesses in New York and Florida. She was not only a great partner in life but also in business. Joseph's Italian Steakhouse was a favorite that she enjoyed. From making her famous meatballs or one of her great desserts. The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at Vassar Hospital and Northern Dutchess Hospital. A huge thank you to Dr. Huan Huan Sun, who went above and beyond for Diana. Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 16, 2022 from 4:00-8:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Holy Trinity Church and Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. Diana and Joe always had a kind supportive word. Met in early 1980's through business circles, that developed into a great lasting friendship. Although the miles between us has limited time together, we always looked forward to speaking with them on the phone or an occasional visit on their way to Florida. Diana was a true lady. We will miss her dearly. Love you Joe!
