New Iberia – A memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Diane Bourque Phillips, 59, who passed away on Monday, January 23, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her family.
Rev. Keith Landry will officiate.
Inurnment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery in New Iberia.
Visitation will be at Pellerin Funeral Home from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, and will continue on Saturday from 10:00 am until 1:30 pm.
A rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 11:00 am on Saturday.
Diane Elizabeth Bourque Phillips was born in New Iberia, Louisiana on June 5, 1963, and worked as Clerk to the Iberia Parish Council. She was the most giving person. She always thought of others before herself. Diane lived her life to the fullest. She loved travelling, beaches, reading, and her pets, but most of all, she treasured her family and they treasured her. She will be deeply missed.
Mrs. Phillips is survived by her husband of 32 years, Darryl Phillips, Sr.; mother, Jeanette Armentor Sanford (W.L.); sister, Dina Trim; brother, Kenneth George Bourque (Debbie); nephew, Michael J. Bourque, Jr. (who she raised as her own); granddaughters, Nova Anise Phillips and Lainie Rae Phillips, (who she raised as her own); nephews, Dylan Trim (Gabi Bonin), and Jayce Bourque (Lori); nieces, Paula Montalvo (Marshel), Nicole Noel (Kevin), and Erika Wheat; step-son, Darryl R. Phillips, Jr.; and a step-grandson, Greyson Phillips.
Diane was preceded in death by her father, John L. "Jay" Bourque; brother, Michael J. Bourque, Sr.; paternal grandparents, Laurent "Blanc" and Anita Bergeron Bourque; maternal grandparents, Otto and Una Hulin Armentor; stepson, Gabe Phillips; parents-in-law, Raymond and Joan Phillips; and sister-in-law, Beth Phillips.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Marian Bourque Janes (cousin); Heart of Hospice; Dr. Clark Alsfeld and the medical team at Ochsner’s in New Orleans; and Dr. Victoria Panelli and her team at Ochsner’s in Lafayette, for extraordinary care and compassion.
