Diane Stewart

Diane P. Stewart, 75, of Ho-Ho-Kus passed away peacefully at home on November 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

She was the loving wife of 50 years to Joseph A. Stewart, and mother to Lisa Leahy (Craig) of Midlothian, VA, Adam (Kate) of Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, and Ryan (Jill) of Weehawken, NJ. She was also the loving grandmother of Colin Leahy, Mary Cameron Leahy, Max Stewart and Leya Stewart. She will also be greatly missed by her sister Victoria Allen (John) of Elmwood Park, NJ and many in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.

Diane was born in Bronx, New York, to Mary and Arthur Sabo and was raised in New Milford, New Jersey. She graduated from Traphagen School of Fashion in New York City and enjoyed a career as a home fashions coordinator at Gimbels department store before becoming a devoted stay-at-home mom. Diane was known among her family and friends for being the ultimate hostess, a passionate cook, and creative thinker. She cherished time spent with her loved ones, and could often be found hosting a flawlessly planned party, whipping up a tasty meal, volunteering at her children's school, tending to her garden, painting canvases or playing the piano. She also enjoyed accompanying her husband on various travel adventures. Once her children were grown, she worked as an aide at Ho-Ho-Kus Waldwick Cooperative Nursery School where she enjoyed the opportunity to share her natural warmth, compassion and vibrant personality with others.

Visiting Sunday 2:00 – 6:00 PM at Feeney Funeral Home, Ridgewood. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10:00 AM at St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church in Ho-Ho-Kus. Interment to follow at St. Luke's Cemetery.
