Dianne Dupont, age 67, passed away peacefully at Mustang Creek Estates Memory Care facility in Sachse, Texas on October 2, 2024 following a lengthy period of declining health due to early onset Alzheimers.
Dianne was born August 14, 1957 in Taunton, Massachusetts, the oldest of four children to Louis and Mary (Williams) Dupont. She attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas at Dallas, and earned her Master of Library Science degree from the University of North Texas. Dianne applied her spirited work ethic across a variety of jobs over the years, which included running a forklift at a hardware store, managing an independent bookstore, working at the Ballpark in Arlington, and couriering for a law firm in Dallas. She worked many years in the Business and Technology Department at the Dallas Main Library and later as a branch manager in the Library System of Garland.
Dianne moved to Texas in 1986. She met Jane Schmidt in 2010 and they married on March 26, 2017 in Plano. With Jane, Dianne enjoyed many years of travel and adventure in the US and Italy as well as frequent visits to the Dallas Arboretum, the Perot Museum of Nature and Science, the Meadows Art Museum at Southern Methodist University, the symphony, opera, musicals and a variety of arts festivals. Dianne also loved spending time on Cape Cod and going on whale watches in Massachusetts. She was an avid reader, enjoyed helping others, and had a tremendous love for dogs and nature.
Dianne leaves her loving wife, Jane Schmidt, of Plano, Texas and stepdaughter Monica Keith (Shayne) of Nashville, Tennessee. Dianne was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Mary (Williams) Dupont and sister Doreen DeSousa. She is survived by brothers Louis Dupont, Jr. (Lynn) of Naples, Florida and Neil Dupont (Sharon) of Mashpee, Massachusetts. Dianne also leaves many other relatives and friends, including nephews and nieces Neil Jr., Kyle, Makenzie, Kevin, Jillian and Aaron.
