Dorothy J. (Dixie) Coffman
LIMA – Dorothy J. (Dixie) Coffman passed away January 11, 2025. She was born November 4,1930 in Lima to the late Marion and Edna Seitz. She was proceeded in death by brother, Robert (Bob) Seitz and sister Margaret (Peggy) James. She is survived by daughter Cathy Shafer (Phil) and son David Bridges of Lima, 2 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
She graduated from Lima Senior H.S, Miami (Ohio) University and earned a Master's Degree at Ball State University. She taught multiple generations of family's children in Allen County including 4 years at Elida School, 33 years at Whittier Grade School and 4 years at Quest Grade School in Lima.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially all the young children. She also enjoyed playing euchre with friends and was an avid reader.
Visiting hours will be Thursday January 16, 10AM – 12PM at Hanneman-Siferd Funeral Home at 506 N. Cable Rd., Lima. The funeral service will follow immediately after. Memorial contributions can be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation t2t.org
