Dock F. Rogers was called to his heavenly home on January 8th, 2025.

Dock was born to Dock and Ann Rogers on April 7th, 1948. Dock attended Andrews High School and graduated in 1966. After graduation, he attended Texas Tech for a semester then decided to roughneck in West Texas and offshore out of Morgan City, Louisiana. Dock joined the Air Force in January of 1968. He was stationed in Amarillo AFB Texas, Sheppard AFB Texas, and Bergstrom AFB Texas before he went to Vietnam. He was awarded the Airman’s Medal of heroism in the face of the enemy in Vietnam. Dock was honorably discharged from the Air Force in December of 1971.

Dock married Darla Rawls in Lamont, Oklahoma on February 8th, 1969. In January of 1972, he and Darla bought a laundry and dry-cleaning business. Darla operated the business and Dock worked in the oilfield at Blakely construction. He started attending Odessa college at nights. In August of 1974, he went to work for Getty Oil which later became Texaco. He continued to attended Odessa College and graduated summa cum laude with an associate of engineering degree. He worked for Texaco for 27 years until he retired in December of 2001. After retiring from Texaco, he helped Darla run the dry-cleaning business until they both retired in June 2007.

Dock was preceded in death by the love of his life, Darla of 55 years, and his sister Nancy Martin of Corpus Christi, Texas. He is survived by his sister Sandra Smith of Waxahachie, Texas, sister-in-law Gina Morrison of Seminole, Oklahoma and brother-in-law Butch Rawls of Holdenville, Oklahoma. Dock preferred to leave off the in-law part and consider them family. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Axl. Also left to cherish his memory are aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and many friends.

Dock was a very caring, kind, and all-around amazing person. He loved his family and all his animals over the years. He loved to read and listen to rock n’ roll music. He loved watching the Texas longhorns play football and Philadelphia Phillies play baseball. He will be missed by everyone that knew him.

Dock has requested that there be no funeral or memorial service.
