Dolley DenBaas

We lost a ray of sunshine on August 10, 2025 when Dolley DenBaas 70, of Lapeer, MI passed away peacefully and much too early with her favorite people showering her in love through her final days. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend.

A true beauty in all ways, Dolley's welcoming nature and smile encouraged all around her to feel welcomed, accepted, and loved. Memories of her quick wit, intelligence, and kindness will never fade. She lived to care for all of the people in her life and at a moment's notice always made the time for a walk, a game of cards, a talk, a text, or a meal around the table. For those of us who love her, in her presence will forever live as one of our favorite places to be.

Dolley was born July 18th, 1955, and is survived by her devoted husband, Dennis DenBaas, her children, Niki Montgomery (Aaron), Scott Hutchinson and Erin Hutchinson, grandchildren ShaiAnne, Ciara, Brooklynn, Cora, and Lake, great grandchildren River, and Joseph, mother Beverly Choate, siblings, Frank Choate (Carol), Cindy Weese (Doug), Ron Choate (Susie), Wayde Choate, Marilyn Hess (Rick), and Lori Harmon (Sam), Brother-in-law Dirk DenBaas (Sybil) and so many special friends and relatives she loved having in her and Denny's lives.

Dolley was preceded in death by her father and stepmother Roy and Iva Choate, brother Roy Lee and sister Jayne Choate.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to Lynch & Sons. A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025, from 4-8 p.m. at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Capstick Chapel in Lapeer. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to McLaren Hospice and Homecare Foundation.
