Dolly Mae Dodson Allen, 77, passed away at her home Wednesday, April 6, 2022. She was born in Chickasaw County, June 4, 1944, to James Ardell Dodson and Mary Lou Criddle Dodson. She worked as a seamstress before her retirement.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Posey (JW) of Amory; her sons, Thomas Wayne Allen (Dawn) and Bobby Lane Allen both of West Point; her sisters, Peggy Pettit of Houston, Maxine McFall (Bill) of Eupora, Wonder Dodson of Woodland, Annette Morris (Donald) of Anniston, AL and Debbie Chandler (Paul) of Vardaman; her grandchildren, Justin Posey, Hannah Temple, Victoria Allen, and Tim Ferrell; and her great-grandchildren, Tessa Temple, Trevor Posey, Ashleigh Ferrell, and Paxton Ferrell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ardell and Mary Lou Dodson; her husband, Bobby Wayne Allen; her daughter, Bobbie Sue Allen; and her siblings, Everese Ruth, Otis Dodson, Jimmy Dale Dodson, Sammy Dodson, and James Dodson, and her mother-in-law Mary Alice White.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 9, 2022, at 2:00 at Southern Funeral Chapel in Houston with Brother Robert Hogue officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Eupora. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until service time at 2:00 Saturday, April 9, at Southern Funeral Chapel.
