Dolores A. DeRose

Dolores Angelina (Garutti) DeRose, 92, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2024. Dee was the beloved wife of the late Robert A. DeRose for 58 years.
Born in Springfield on September 15, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Marcello and Rosamaria (Balboni) Garutti.
A graduate of Commerce High School, before raising her family, Dee worked at Mass Mutual and later at Elmcrest Country Club until retirement.
Dee embraced her Italian heritage and enjoyed many dinners with family and large circle of friends. Making family favorites of Italian cookies & tortellini, knitting her beloved Christmas stockings and cheering on her children/grandchildren at sporting events, were a few of her favorite pastimes. Family was always first!
She was a devoted member of Mary, Mother of Hope Church where she selflessly volunteered at weekly Bingo, Womens Club events, pasta dinners and wherever she was needed!
Dee was a beloved mother to, Diane Guihan & husband Michael of East Longmeadow, Robert DeRose & wife Doreen of Attleboro, James DeRose & wife Susan of Longmeadow, Donna DeRose & wife Donna Strolen of Bonita Springs, FL and Paul DeRose & wife Michelle of Wilbraham, and a dear, Noni to nine beautiful grandchildren, and three darling great-grandchildren. She also leaves her brother, Marcello Garutti, and sister, Sandra Brais & husband Phil, as well as many wonderful nieces, nephews and extended family members.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Shirley & Angelo Garutti.
Dees family would like to thank the staff at JGS Lifecare for their attentive care, dedication and compassion during her stay.
Calling hours will be Thursday, January 11, from 4-6 p.m. at Tazzini Funeral Home, 22 Locust Street. Dees funeral service will begin Friday, 9 a.m. at the funeral home, proceeding to her 10 a.m. Liturgy of Christian Burial at Mary, Mother of Hope Church, 840 Page Boulevard, burial will follow at St. Michaels Cemetery, 1601 State Street; all in Springfield.
