Dolores Hooke Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cartwright Funeral Home - Holbrook on Dec. 30, 2025.
Dolores Ann "Cookie" Hooke (Almeder), of Randolph, a beacon of love and laughter, passed away peacefully at home on December 17, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 22, 1934, she was the daughter of the late George and Kathleen Almeder, Cookie grew up infused with a spirit of joy and caring that she would carry with her throughout her life.
Cookie was a proud graduate of Randolph High School, where she formed lasting friendships and a strong sense of community. Her commitment to her hometown remained steadfast, and she contributed to the well-being of her neighbors through her work. For 15 years, Cookie served as a dedicated Secretary at the Randolph Medical Center, where her thoughtful nature and quick wit brightened the days of both colleagues and patients.
In her personal life, Cookie was the beloved wife of the late Richard Hooke, with whom she shared a beautiful and enduring partnership. Together, they raised a family that was the very heart of Cookie's world. She was a loving mother to Richard Hooke and his husband Joseph Cappola of Randolph, Debora Beaton and her late husband Robert of Abington, Robert Hooke and his partner Joyce of Abington, Kelli Hooke of Chelsea, and the late Patricia Hooke. As a sister, she shared a childhood with Robert, Kathleen, and remembered with fondness by her late siblings, Connie and George, and her late birth mother Alice.
Cookie's role as a grandmother and great-grandmother was where she shone brightest. Her grandchildren, Jason, Mark, Derek, Sean, and Cara, were the recipients of her boundless love and support. The light of her life continued to grow with the arrival of her great-grandchildren, Colby, Lennon, and Cora, who will carry the warmth of her love forward.
Those who knew Cookie will remember her for her love of life's simple pleasures. She had an affinity for shopping and could often be found adorned in her signature bling jewelry, which matched the sparkle in her eyes whenever she shared a laugh. Cookie cherished her trips to Rangeley, Maine, where she found joy in the beauty of nature and the company of her family. A devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, and her love for dining out, and the occasional gin and tonic, was only surpassed by her adoration for her children and grandchildren, whom she held dear above all else.
Cookie's presence was a gift to all who knew her, marked by her loving nature, her sense of humor, and her thoughtful attentiveness to the needs and happiness of others. Her laughter was infectious, her guidance invaluable, and her ability to make every person feel special was truly a rare quality. Cookie lived a life filled with love and laughter, and her legacy of kindness and joy will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive in the stories told and retold by her loving family and the many friends whose lives she touched.
