Dolores Lucille Puffer

Dolores Lucille Puffer, age 90 of Buffalo, MN, devoted wife and friend, passed away peacefully on her sixty-ninth wedding anniversary date, September 8, 2025 at Park View Care Center in Buffalo, MN.

She was born on February 1, 1935, in Greenwood Township, Minnesota, to Otto and Edna (Steinke) Kettenacker. Dolores was born and raised on a farm near Rockford. Dolores was baptized into the Christian faith on March 17, 1935, at Salem Lutheran Church in Greenwood Township, where she was later confirmed on March 21, 1948. Her faith remained a central part of her life, guiding her with strength, compassion, and grace.

She attended Rockford High School until her junior year when her family moved to Buffalo. Dolores graduated from Buffalo High School and began working at Oakley National Bank where she met her future husband, Dwayne. Upon seeing her for the first time Dwayne told one of his co-workers that "I am going to marry that girl." On September 8, 1956, Dolores was united in marriage to Dwayne Puffer at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo, Minnesota.

Dolores was employed at Oakley National Bank in Buffalo from 1953 to 1977, where she was known for her diligence and integrity. Beyond her professional life, Dolores gave generously of her time and talents to her church community. She taught Sunday School, was a member of the choir at St. John's Lutheran Church and she and Dwayne never missed a Sunday at church.

During her life Dolores will always be remembered for being stern and opinionated, but always remained gracious in all that she did. She also had a giggle that once it started it was hard to stop and it became infectious.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dwayne; parents, Otto & Edna Kettenacker and brother, Harold Kettenacker

She is survived her sister-in-law, Margie Puffer and her family; nephews, Dwayne (Lois) Kettenacker and Darryl (Sue) Kettenacker and their families

A service celebrating Dolores's life and faith will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo, MN. Luncheon to be held at the chapel following the service.

Officiating will be Pastor Chris Ryan of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Buffalo, MN

Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Rockford, MN
