Dominic George, passed away on May 27, 2025, at the age of 88. He was born on July 2, 1936, in Corona, New York to his parents Anthony and Lucy, where he spent his early years before embarking on a lifelong journey characterized by hard work, kindness, and a deep love for his family.
Dominic's educational foundation began with a high school diploma, which paved the way for his long and fulfilling career in highway maintenance. His dedication to his work was evident in the pride he took in ensuring safe and efficient transportation for New Yorkers.
Beyond his professional life, Dominic was cherished for his caring personality. He had a distinctive love for wearing his favorite hat, becoming a beloved figure in his community and among his loved ones.
Dominic was not only dedicated to his work but also to his family. He is survived by his sons; Kenneth George and his wife Cynthia, Gary George ad his wife Katherine, and Eric George and his wife Yasi. He took immense joy in being a grandfather to nine grandchildren and a great-grandfather to ten great-grandchildren. His family was the center of his world, and he devoted much of his time and energy to nurturing those relationships.
The memory of Dominic will be honored through a series of gatherings. Visitation will take place on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Mangano Family Funeral Home, Inc. from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM and again from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. A Mass in his memory will be held at Saint Matthew in Dix Hills on June 2, 2025, at 9:45 AM. A burial to follow at Mount Saint Mary's Cemetery.
Dominic George will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, a testament to a life well-lived.
