Donald Edwin Ball
Born September 30, 1954, in Gardena, Los Angeles, California to Charles Edwin and Alice LaVon Thomas Ball. Died February 2023 in Santaquin, Utah.
He was the baby of the family but was the largest in stature, which came with a larger than life laugh that will be missed by all who had the chance to hear it.
He graduated from Gardena High School in 1972 where he enjoyed playing basketball. Perhaps his proudest accomplishment in high school was his teeter-totter championship which brought him and his buddy notoriety and an appearance on national television.
He spent much of his life living near his brother David, spending many holidays and other cherished moments with family who will miss him so much.
He recently moved to Santaquin, Utah, which held a special place for him. He had fond memories of the summer months he was able to spend there as a boy visiting his grandparents. That connection remained, drawing him back to start a new life where he still had friends and lasting memories.
He is survived by sister-in-law Lola Ball, brother David (Cody) Ball, sister Susan Ridd, many adored nieces and nephews, and stepson Ian. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Tom Ball and brother-in-law Gordon Ridd.
We love you, Don, and wish we had more time with you. You left us way too soon!

As a child in the early 1960's Don & his sister Susan would come to Santaquin for a period of time each summer. Don & I was the same age, & both of us being around 7 to 8 yrs old would spend a lot of time playing & creating mischief. I looked forward to seeing him each summer.
I do remember us starting the hay barn on fire that was next to his grandmother's house. I think we "got away" for that one! I remember the "hunting trips" with the BB gun...where no pet in the neighborhood was safe.
Even though I had not seen Don for over 55 or so years, he stopped in to my office to re-introduce himself. The laugh was still there. So was his infectious grin. It was great to see him again and reminisce our early lives. I will miss our updated friendship. rest in peace Don!

Don was our neighbor in Redmond. He was the person who brought many of us together. It was a new neighborhood but Don was a social magnet who would introduce all the neighbors and would never let anyone opt out. He was an uncle to our kids and the spoiler in chief to our dog.

Don´s house was known for having a pile of rocks out front for a year. He was never quite clear what he was going to use them for and it became a constant joke. When we moved away Don gave us a jar of the rocks. They traveled the west with us until we moved to our new house then we mixed them into our new landscaping.

We will miss Don but never be sorry we met him. RIP my friend!
