Don McCoy Mabe, a beacon of warmth and laughter, passed away peacefully at his home on May 10, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on October 5, 1943, Don lived a life rich in love and adventure, cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Don was a fun-loving spirit, whose kindness and genuine care for those around him created lasting memories for family and friends. He found deep joy in spending time outdoors, where he often took the opportunity to connect with nature and share moments of laughter with loved ones. His passion for life and his unwavering love for family were his proudest accomplishments, those precious moments spent together woven into the fabric of his being.
His legacy will live on through his son, Don McCoy Mabe, Jr. He is also survived by his loving siblings: brother John Mabe, and sisters Dorthy Willard, Doris Greene, and Linda Wilson. Each of them holds a piece of Don in their hearts, forever grateful for the memories and love they shared.
Don was preceded in death by a loving family that included his father, Terry Leonard Mabe, and mother, Clarice Vera Bennett Mabe. His son Richard Mabe. He is also reunited with his brothers Clyde, Wilbert, Jimmy, and L.T. Mabe, sister Lois Mabe Thompson Hayes, who, along with family and friends, will hold his memory close as they navigate a world without his bright spirit.
A Celebration Of Don's Life will be held at a later date.
