Don McAfee Moore

Don McAfee Moore, age 86 of Cordele, passed away on December 19, 2025, surrounded by his precious daughters. Don was born on April 17, 1939, in Crisp County to the late Charlie Moore and Verlie McAfee Moore. In his younger years, Don worked as an auto mechanic, a trade he thoroughly enjoyed. He was also a farmer, and like many who work the land, he found there was nothing quite like the smell of freshly turned soil in the spring after it had rested through the winter months. In his later years, Don served his community as Postmaster in the Warwick area. Don loved spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and golfing, and he also enjoyed woodworking. He was a member of Warwick Methodist Church. Don is survived by his wife of 65 years, Carol Anne Moore; daughter Susan Moore and her husband Dick Ulm; daughter Stephanie Payne; and two grandchildren, Greer Payne, and Grant Payne. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Pat Moore. The family will greet friends at Rainey Family Funeral Services on Tuesday, December 23, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. A private service will be held at a later date.
