Don B. Swor, age 82, passed peacefully from this life on Monday, November 18, 2024.

Don was born on February 16, 1942, in Dallas, Texas, to Oliver Willoughby Swor and Naomi Swor Vesper. After graduating from high school, Don answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Air Force in July 1961.

During his military service, Don proudly contributed to the Vietnam Era effort, as a radar analyst to support his fellow servicemen overseas. After four years of active service, Don continued his commitment to the nation by serving in the Air Force Reserves until 1967. He was very proud to have served his country.

On February 14, 1969, Don married Nancy, the love of his life, on Valentine’s Day - a fitting celebration of their enduring love. The couple had known each other since their teenage years, and their bond only grew stronger over the decades.

Don’s professional life reflected his passion for aerospace. He began a lifelong career with Bell Helicopter as a bonder and inspector, dedicating more than 40 years to the company before retiring. Alongside his career, Don nurtured a deep faith in God and served as an ordained deacon for many years, finding great joy in helping others through ministry.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver Willoughby Swor and Naomi Swor Vesper; his sisters, Terry Milbert and Judy Hehner; and his brother, Jerry Vesper.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Nancy Swor of Weatherford, Texas; daughter, Teresa Swor; son, Matthew Swor and wife, Kerri; and two cherished and loved granddaughters, Sara and Jennifer Swor.

Don also leaves behind his siblings, Shirley Johnson and husband, Steve, and Ricky Vesper; as well as his bonus family: daughter, Stephanie King; son, Joe King; and five grandkids and two great grandkids.

He will be missed by his dog, Jaba, who brought him much joy.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, February 21, 2025, at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery pavilion, in Dallas, Texas.
