Don Witte

Don Witte, age 82 of Marion, passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Kingston Residence of Marion with his daughter by his side. Don was born on October 29, 1938, in Hamilton, Ohio, to the late William P. and Mary E. (Epp) Witte. He graduated from Ross Township High School, class of 1956, and he retired from Whirlpool Corporation in 1996.
Don was an avid runner and fitness enthusiast. He competed in numerous running events well into his late seventies. He was especially fond of the fitness classes he attended at the Marion Family YMCA and the staff that supported he and Cara.
He is survived by his wife Cara S. (Minshall) Witte; his daughter Tamera S. (Don) Askren of Holton, Kansas; his half-brother John (Liz) Witte of Ross, Ohio; his half-sister Carlene (Jim) Stewart of Middletown, Ohio; his grandson Stephen D. (Nina) Estabrook of Temple, Texas; three great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father William P. Witte, mother Mary E. Fulton, stepmother Ruth E. Witte, stepfather Walter J. Fulton, brother Dale J. Witte, and son Brian S. Witte.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
