Dona McCulley Rogers, 88, a lifelong resident of Poosey Ridge, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.

Born on Sunday, March 14, 1937, in Madison County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Clay and Carrie Cates McCulley. Dona was an outstanding example of a person with a good work ethic. She enjoyed working and was a hard worker. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and taking care of her house, but her greatest joy came from farming. She really preferred to be outside at work, on the farm, where she and her husband raised tobacco and cattle on their family farm. Dona loved horses and riding horses, and in her past, she enjoyed riding in the Madison County Saddle Club.

At a young age, Dona accepted Jesus Christ as Savior and became a member of the Gilead Baptist Church. In the last few years, she attended Full Gospel Tabernacle where she enjoyed working and serving in the church. One of her favorite activities was to help serve fellowship meals, and because of her "sweet tooth", she especially enjoyed serving the cakes. She loved and cared for her family, and her grandchildren were her "pride and joy."

Survivors include her husband of 72 years, Neal "Coonie" Rogers; one son, David Rogers (Debbie), of Poosey Ridge; a grandson, Jason Rogers (Trinity), of Poosey Ridge; three great-grandchildren, Shelby Grace Rogers, Donah Kate Rogers and Avie Jayne Rogers; a special friend, Tina Horn.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Madrue McCulley James.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1 PM Monday, August 18, 2025, at Combs, Parsons and Collins Funeral Home with Bro. Rickey Horn officiating. Burial will follow in the Rogers Cemetery in Poosey Ridge.

Visitation will be from 3 – 8 PM Sunday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jason Rogers, Ricky Cheeks, Connie Estes, Bobby Charlton, Neal Winkler, Rob Ross, Ricky Howard and Alfred Winkler.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Full Gospel Tabernacle.
