Donald A. Artz

Donald A. Artz, affectionately known as Don or Donnie, passed away at The James Cancer Center on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at the age of 62.
Don was a devoted family man who cherished spending time with his wife, Donna, whom he married on August 6, 1983. Together, they raised three children: Dea, Donald and Dana, and were blessed with three grandchildren. Don took immense joy in his family, often found with his grandkids and beloved grand dogs on his lap while watching TV.
A master craftsman, Don owned his own construction business for years before he became a state licensed plumber. Don was known for his dedication to helping others through his woodworking and handyman talents. He took pride in creating beautifully crafted pieces for his loved ones, often spending hours in his workshop. His passion for woodworking even led him to enter his crafts in the county fair, where he proudly brought home blue ribbons for every piece; sometimes at the cost of furniture disappearing from his home, including his youngest daughter's bed.
Don was involved in both a golf league and a bowling league, where his friendly personality and dedication to others shone through. When Don was home and not in his workshop, he enjoyed spending time with his family, grilling up some dinner, or watching NASCAR on TV.
Donnie is survived by his loving wife, Donna Artz; three children: Dea, Tony, and Dana; brothers: Dale (Selina) Artz, Dane (Ellen), Douglas (Tamie) and Daniel (Theresa); brother-in-law, Virgil Staley, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Dorothy Artz; and sisters: Josie, Neice and Debra.
Services for Donnie will be private.
