Donald E. Bahrs, age 78, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025, at the Bethany Home in Waupaca, Wisconsin. Born on January 25, 1947, in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, to parents Ervin and Selina (Bohnsack) Bahrs, Don's life was a testament to his enduring love for his family and his unwavering kindness to all who knew him.
Don's journey brought him to Racine, Wisconsin, at the age of eight, where he attended school. He later met the love of his life, Eileen E. (Riegelman) Bahrs. The two joined hands in matrimony on May 13, 1967. Don enlisted in the United States Navy in 1965 and proudly served until 1968.
Don's professional life reflected his unwavering commitment and work ethic. He was a dedicated employee at Dumore in Racine, later transferring to Mauston in 1992, and he proudly retired in 2016.
An avid bowler, Don found joy in the lanes, whether it was in the thunderous crash of pins or the camaraderie amongst friends. His contagious enthusiasm for the game was matched by his generosity and warmth both on and off the lanes.
Don was the beloved patriarch to his children: Donny (Karen Passantino) Bahrs of Denton, TX. Tammy Hess of Mauston, WI., Danny Bahrs, Stacy (Mike Bolcerek) Miller, of Necedah, WI. Tyler (Machelle) Bahrs of Louisville, TN. and Kevin (Angie) Bahrs of Muskego, WI. His grandchildren: Jessica, Brandi, Evan, Tayden, Madison, Jaden, Maci, Katie, Alex, Cody, and Tristin. His great-grandchildren: Dilynn, Ryan, Remi, Kevin, Carson, Iris and a soon to be great grandchild. He is further survived by his sister, Judy Ingersoll, of Racine, WI. Don was preceded in death by his parents, his dear son Danny Bahrs, his seven brothers, Erv, Cliff, Larry, Ray, Eddie, Rich and Kenny and his brother-in-law Tom Ingersoll.
No services are being planned. The Hare Funeral Home in New Lisbon is assisting the family with arrangements.
