Donald Ray Coleman, Sr., age 93, of Gainesville, passed away June 22, 2025 in Sherman.
Don was born March 21, 1932 near Tulsa, OK. Some of his formidable years were spent in California but he eventually settled in Gainesville. Don loved fishing and was a consummate family man. He was a proud member of Southside Baptist Church.
Predeceased by: parents Charles and Alice (Thorp) Coleman; wife Wanda (Hamilton) Coleman; son Michael Coleman; son Donald Coleman, Jr. (Donnie); daughter Paula Bradford; daughter Connie Parker; daughter Jan Osborne; sister Anita; and brother Arnold.
Survived by: son William Coleman and wife Dea Mae of Ripley, TN; son Bobby Coleman and wife Cindy of Fredonia, KS; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 27, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, in the funeral home chapel. A committal service will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Gainesville.
