Donald Martin Daugherty, 86, widower of Wilma L. Daugherty, passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2025. He was born in Danville, Kentucky, on September 24, 1938, to the late John Pat Daugherty and Myrtle Vaught Daugherty. Don worked as a project manager for General Telephone and was a veteran of the United States Army. He had two objectives during retirement: to be retired longer than he worked and to never wear another suit. The family is pleased to announce that he met both of those objectives. Survivors include two sons, Don “Marty” Daugherty and his wife Michelle and Kevin Daugherty and his wife Lisa, daughter, Margaret Lee Daugherty Isbell and her husband Kevin, eight grandchildren, Erin Daugherty (Kyle) Johnson, Kyra Isbell, Kian (Hannah) Daugherty, Kwinn Isbell, Sean (Jenna) Daugherty, Luke Daugherty, Jonathan (Rachel) Daugherty and Katie Isbell, great granddaughter, Magnolia Kay Daugherty, step grandchildren, Kameron and Gabe Johnston. He was preceded in death by seven siblings, George Noel, John Pat, William Joseph “Joe”, Charles Leon Daugherty, Dorothy Lee Caple, Margaret Elizabeth Carter, and a Stillborn sibling. He was also preceded by two four-legged friends, Bubba and Sissy. Services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor Wade Muncy officiating and burial in the Camp Nelson National Cemetery with full Military Honors. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at Betts & West Funeral Home.
