Donald L. Decker, 88, of Shelbyville, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026, in LaGrange, Kentucky.

Donald proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He had a great sense of humor and loved lighthouses. He also had a large collection of lighthouses and Coast Guard replica ships.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Decker; and his parents, Willie and Katherine Decker.

He is survived by his brother, Bob Decker of Alexandria, Virginia; his sister, Roberta Taurman of Shelbyville, Kentucky; his stepdaughter, Leeanne Osbourne of Louisville, Kentucky; his nieces Susan Decker, and Angela Decker; his nephews, Billy Decker, and Chris Taurman; and several great and great great nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday February 5, 2026, at the Shannon Funeral Home, in Shelbyville. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday February 5, 2026, at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville, Kentucky.

Expressions of sympathy may be made out to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 15 Audubon Plaza Drive Louisville, KY 40217-1318.

Mr Decker & family, I´m retired CG Reservist. I don´t think I ever had the opportunity to meet Mr. Decker but, I just want to say he and family will be in my prayers. Thank you Mr.Decker for your service.
