Donald L. Kimsey, 71, of Millsboro, Delaware, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on December 21, 1953, in Wilmington, Delaware, Don lived a life defined by dedication-to his family, his work, and his greatest passion: the game of baseball. He spent his career at the DuPont Edgemoor Plant, where he was respected for his hard work and reliability.
For 53 years, Don gave his heart to coaching baseball. He wasn't just a coach-he was a mentor, a role model, and a steady presence on and off the field. His impact on youth baseball in the community will be felt for generations.
Don is survived by his beloved wife, Joyce A. Kimsey; his daughter Amanda Soares and her husband Nick; his son Sean Kimsey and his wife Laura; and his cherished grandchildren: Nolan, Nicky, Declan, Dillon, Jordan, Emily, Brinley, and Calvin. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering support for his family, and deep love of the game.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium 34874 Atlantic Ave, Ocean View, Delaware.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford Campus, located at 100 Patriot's Way, Milford, Delaware 19963, in appreciation for the care and compassion they provided during Don's final days.

I still remember the days at Mount Pleasant HS we spent in Mrs. Vantine´s drama class, creating some of the most hilarious skits together. Don had this incredible ability to make anything funny, and our performances were always full of laughs. Whether we were improvising or rehearsing lines, his energy and creativity were infectious. He had this way of making the most ordinary moments feel like a comedy show. I'll always cherish the laughter we shared and the fun we had working side by side. His presence in those moments was something truly special, and I'll miss him greatly. Don had too incredible school spirit. He was truly a great Green Knight leading and bringing alumni together. Prayers to you, family, friends and the class of 1972!
