Donald Edward Larsen February 2, 1938- September 13, 2025 Don Larsen was born on February 2, 1938, in Oregon City, Oregon to his father Perry and mother Alice. He grew up in Monitor and went to Molalla High School. He graduated from West Linn High School in 1956. Don served in the US Coast Guard from 1956 to 1963. He and his wife moved from Gladstone in 1962 to Toledo to work at GP where he raised his family. Don was a force of nature who lived his life with excellence and gusto. He had a multitude of hobbies, which he mastered - from racing cars and motorcycles to hunting and fishing all throughout the great Northwest. So passionate about them all. Nothing could slow him down. He loved to hear and tell a good story of grand adventures, and he loved the beautiful Siletz River. He was a meticulous craftsman; no project was too large. Don was an incredibly hard working and determined man. His favorite books were his cherished Bible and The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale - which he gifted each of his beloved children. His beautiful and faithful wife of 66 years and his loving family will miss his great big smile, twinkling eyes, and his limitless wisdom. Don passed away at home in Toledo, Oregon on September 13, 2025, at 87 years old. Don is survived by his wife June Larsen of Toledo, son Chris Larsen of McMinnville and daughters Vickie Kneeland (husband Noel) of Medford and Amy Purdon (husband Darrin) of Toledo. He is also survived by his grandchildren Chealsea of Medford, Shelby of Merlin, Matthew of Washougal WA, Dylan of Columbus MS and Syndey of Albany as well as great grandchildren Fisher, Opal, Jack and June. His sister Carole Berke of Beaverton and multiple much loved nieces and nephews. Don is preceded in death by his father Perry and mother Alice. He is also preceded in death by his sisters Janet Ingram and Dorthy Larsen. Please make memorial contributions to the charity of your choice. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, November 15 at 1:00 PM at the Newport Nazarene Church. We would be honored if you would come join us.
