Donald E. "Don" Lincoln

Donald E. 'Don' Lincoln, age 55 of Horseheads, NY was killed in an automobile accident on Route 414 on Saturday, November 2, 2024.
Born on November 9, 1968 in North Hornell, NY, he was the son of the late Jerry Lincoln and Beverly (Smith) Lincoln. Don was a graduate of Corning East High School, class of 1987. He married his high school sweetheart, Mingo Black on February 25, 1995. He was employed by the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 158 as a heavy equipment operator. For the past 10 years, Don worked on the road and the friendships and comradery he gained were invaluable. A shout-out to Don MF Lincoln brotherhood.
Don was a true outdoorsman and had a love for all activities in nature, including snowmobiling, four wheeling, mountain biking, ice skating, skiing and camping and fishing. In his younger years, he would take many fishing trips with his father, grandfather, uncle George and wife. He loved racing, and was a BMX racer. When he wasn't outdoors, he loved to be in the kitchen cooking. He was known for his pierogis, among other dishes. He loved cars and was very big into antiquing. He and his wife, Mingo built their log cabin home where they have lived for 14 years. Don's love for his family and pets was great - he was a true mama's boy and loved his mother dearly, along with his three dogs and his cats.
Don is survived by his wife, Mingo B. Lincoln of Horseheads, NY; mother, Beverly Lincoln of Corning, NY; siblings: Debbie LaBar of Painted Post, NY, Susan (Dave) Preston of PA, Larry (Linda) Knowles of Painted Post, NY, Ronnie (Clarissa) Knowles of Painted Post, NY; special nephews: Joe (Chrissy) Button of Corning, NY, Steven (Alyssa) Comfort, Rob (Jessica) LeBar of Prattsburgh, NY; aunt, Lolly 'Booger' Lott; and several other nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, Don was predeceased by his sister, Michelle and father-in-law, Robert 'Pops' Black.
Family and friends are invited to visitation on Monday, November 11, 2024 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm and again from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Carpenter's Funeral Home, 14 E. Pulteney St., Corning.
