Donald Glyn Link, 88, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away December 12, 2025 at Capital Region Hospital. Don was born March 9, 1937 to the late Edward and Lois Link. Don was raised in Wainwright (formerly Linkville). Don went to school in Wainwright for eight years and was taught by his mom. He graduated from Jefferson City Highschool in 1955 and while there he played the tuba In the high school band. He attended Jefferson City Jr. College.
Don served in the Army Reserve starting in 1959 to 1965 with an Honorable discharge.
Don was united in marriage to Shirley Carlos Link at the Bethel Baptist Church in Columbia. They were married for a wonderful 65 years. They have two children, Elizabeth (Beth) of Holts Summit, Missouri, and Scott Link of Columbia, Missouri.
Don worked on the family farm with his Dad, they raised cattle and hogs, which he continued with his children. Don belonged to the Wainwright 4-H Busy Valley Club where he won numerous awards and was in the Missouri Delegation National 4-H Congress in 1957.
Don Retired from the Us Postal Service in 2009. He was employed there thirty two years in addition to his farming career.
Don played in a band the Missouri River Drifters for several years. He played lead guitar and sang harmony. He played piano for several years for the Wainwright Methodist Church. They enjoyed dancing at the Country Stampede on Saturday nights and traveled to several states competing in dance competitions.
Don and Shirley raised many animals on the farm, Including Collie dogs that allowed them to travel to several states to dog shows, one of the dogs where it was the champion Miss Mizzou. As a family, we raised and showed Polled Hereford cattle, pigs, horses and sheep and traveled all over to attend shows and fairs.
Don was a member of First United Methodist Church. He served as Usher and Greeter many times. He enjoyed being a volunteer and treasured his time being a volunteer in the youth group. He enjoyed attending church and singing in the choir, God presented them with a great place to worship, church friends and wonderful pastors.
Don enjoyed living on the farm, he was the fifth generation to live on the Link Family Farm. He loved his family and spending time with the pets especially with Kelce their Nigerian Dwarf goat.
Don was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers the family would prefer that donations be made to First Methodist Church, Jefferson City in Donalds name.
