Donald M. Lyons Jr.

D onald (Donnie) M. Lyons, Jr., age 64, of Newark, DE, passed away on August, 20th, 2025. Donnie was a native Delawarean. He graduated from the Joseph P. Douglass Opportunity School in Wilmington, DE. He had a short-term job working for Dupont in the mail room.
D onnie discovered Easter Seals and attended their day program for over twenty years enjoying the company of many friends and participating in Special Olympics at the center.
D onnie loved playing on his Kindle Fire. He loved watching old TV programs: The Three Stooges, Andy Griffith, M.A.S.H. He also loved the Eagles football team and watching them play.
S ome of his favorite things to do is going to Chick-Fil-A and Dairy Queen for lunch and going to Delaware Park to play the penny machines. Donnie loved going to family events and parties and being around his nieces and nephews.
D onnie is survived by his sister, Ann Mckamey (Vaughn, brother-in-law), four nephews and four nieces, and five great nephews and one great niece.
( Also he was a master of the Curly Shuffle!)
A funeral service will be held at McCrery and Harra's Kirkwood Hwy. location: 3710 Kirkwood Hwy in Wilmington, Delaware, August 26th. Visitation will start at 10am with service at 11am. Burial will be at All Saints Cemetery.
