Donald MacLean, 80, of Ithaca, NY, passed away peacefully at his home in Inez, KY, on August 16, 2025, with his daughter Priscilla at his bedside. He was born September 8, 1944, in Manhattan, NY, a son of the late John and Lila Ramakka MacLean. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Bill; a sister, Audrey Lapadula; and a grandson, Stephen.

He was of the Christian faith and a brick mason by trade and spent much of his life building, remodeling, and restoring houses as a general contractor along with his sons, Donny, John, and Josh. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved to be surrounded by his family and never turned down an opportunity to hold his grand and great-grandchildren and bounce them on his knee.

In 1968, Donald enlisted in the United States Navy with the Seabees, proudly serving his Country during the Vietnam War until being honorably discharged in 1969. That same year, he met his wife Joyce Parshall, and they were married and had their first child together.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joyce; seven children, Toby, Jody, Priscilla, Donald Jr., Jennifer, John IV, and Joshua; thirty-one grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at the Sparks Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast in Greenup County with military honors by Kenova American Legion Post 93.

Visitation will be on Friday, August 22, 2025, from noon until service time at the funeral home.
