Donald W. MacLeod

HOLLISTON—-Donald W. MacLeod, 54, a resident of Holliston for the past 20 years, died Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at home under the care of his family. He was the husband of Karen Conca-MacLeod. Born in Boston on August 15, 1960, son of Donald M. and Joan M. (MacKenzie) MacLeod of Easton. He was raised in Easton and was a graduate of Oliver Ames High School. Donald continued his education at Northeastern University earning a BS in (Mechanical) Engineering Donald was employed as an engineer w/ the US Army Department of Defense primarily with Chemical Protection group at Natick Labs for 30 years. He was an Eagle Scout and enjoyed genealogy research. As an avid outdoorsman his hobbies included hiking, camping, canoeing and some fishing while relaxing at his cabin in Freedom, NH on Ossipee Lake. He took frequent summer trips to Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia Canada the birthplace and current residence of his father's family. He was an avid blogger on Colon Cancer sites and provided words of experience and wisdom to several colon cancer survivors and friends. In addition to his wife Karen Conca-MacLeod and his parents, Donald is survived by a sister, Debora J. (MacLeod) and Michael Fiore of Norton, niece Katie (Fiore), nephews Michael, Andrew and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Covenant Congregational Church of North Easton, 204 Center Street, Easton.
