Donald Robert Magalis

Donald Robert Magalis, 68, of Harrisonburg, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at the Sentara RMH Medical Center.
Mr. Magalis was born on May 2, 1957, in Harrisonburg, and was a son of the late Richard Boone and Violet Catherine (Hinkle) Magalis.
Donald was a longtime member of the Cornerstone Church of Harrisonburg, where he played drums in the praise band for more than 30 years. He also played drums in a local band named Journey. He worked for United Bank in Maintenance for more than 30 years. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Zachary Magalis, Katelyn Ecroyd and husband, William, Nathaniel Magalis; brothers, Richard Magalis, and Dwight Magalis; grandchildren, Lucas, Rowan, Alex, Landon, Laylana, Leighton, Matthew and Arabella, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Magalis was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Magalis.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, October 30, 2025, from 6 until 8 p.m., at the Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025, at 6 p.m., at Cornerstone Church of Harrisonburg, with Pastor Joe Slagell officiating.
Burial will be held privately.
