Donald Lee Miller, 89, of Latrobe, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Independence Health System Latrobe Hospital.
Born July 20, 1936, in Hostetter, he was the son of the late Vincent Miller and Velma (Shimek) Miller.
After graduating from Latrobe High School in 1954, Don served four years in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Korea. He then attended St. Vincent and Carthage Colleges and obtained degrees in Accounting and Business Management. Prior to his retirement in 1990, he was employed as the Manager of Cost Accounting at Latrobe Steel Company.
Don was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Whitney. A man of great integrity, he loved and provided for his family his entire life. Don lived for his grandchildren. He was an avid sports fan and spent his leisure time reading, playing golf on the computer, and listening to talk radio.
Don is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sharon (Mishou) Miller; three sons, Chris Miller (Gwen) of Greenville, NC, Cary Miller (Nina) of Latrobe, and Ken Miller (Cecil) of Houston, PA; eight grandchildren, Matthew, Grace, Sarah, Daniel, Shanna, Zoe, Samuel, and Aimee; two great-grandchildren, Rowan and Sylvia; four siblings, Vince Miller of Etna, OH, Bill Miller (Marie) of Latrobe, Connie Leachman (Joe) of Greensburg, and Karen Ekdahl (Bill) of Winter Garden, FL; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Linda French of Bangor, ME, Eddie Mishou (Shirley) of Orrington, ME, and Larry Mishou of Newberry Springs, CA; as well as many dear nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Marilyn Monahan and Betty Mock; a sister-in-law, Beverly Miller; a brother-in-law, Francis Monahan; and a daughter-in-law, Joann Miller.
The Miller family would like to extend a heartfelt "thank you" to the nursing staff on 3-North and the ICU department of Latrobe Hospital for the kindness and exemplary care they provided to our beloved family member Don in his final days.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at the Lopatich-Brinker Funeral Home, LLC, 601 Weldon Street, Latrobe.
