Donald Lloyd Owens, of Camdenton, Missouri, formerly of Naperville, Illinois, passed peacefully in the company of loved ones listening to his favorite music August 2, 2023. He was born in St. Louis to the late Donald and the late Beverly Owens on August 5, 1950. Don was predeceased by two siblings, Gary Michael Owens and Linda Lee Owens. He is survived by his sisters Susan (Mike) Hanus, Bonnie Owens, Cheryl Owens, Jane Jacobek, Jody (Nobuo) Suga and brother David (Kathy) Owens and numerous nieces and nephews.
Don graduated from Naperville Community High School in 1968 and Northern Illinois University where he received a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature. He was also a proud member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. While working at DeVry University he obtained an MBA in Human Resources from Keller Graduate School of Management, graduation with Distinction. Don was employed by Patina and more recently at Korn Ferry as the Senior Director Talent Solutions, Interim Executives and Professionals where he was admired and respected by his co-workers and those he mentored over the years.
To those who knew Don, he was affectionately known as Dono or Uncle Don. He had a wonderful sense of humor, could recite word for word lines from his favorite movies (along with the appropriate impressions), had great success with crossword puzzles due to his extensive vocabulary and enjoyed the company of his good friends, especially at his favorite place, his home on the Lake of the Ozarks. He loved the St. Louis Cardinals, fishing, golf, snowmobiling, a good cigar, Fantasy Football and cooking. He will definitely be missed.
Many thank to all the nurses and aides at Arrowhead Senior Living Community and Compassus Hospice for the wonderful care they provided in his last weeks. A memorial will be scheduled at a later date per Don's request.
