He was born Sept. 16, 1928 in Auburn, the son of George and Mary Szabo Pohlod.
Don married Shirley Dodd on Aug. 24, 1952. During their long life together they had two children, Holly and Barry. They enjoyed traveling together and with their family.
He was a member of the Auburn Volunteer Fire Department for many years and the last 21 years he served as the Assistant Fire Chief.
Visitation will be from 1:30pm till time of memorial service at 2:30pm, Thursday, July 14, 2022 at Bramley Funeral Home, Auburn with Rev. Michael Madden officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Washington Park Botanical Garden.
Condolences may be left online at www.bramleyfh.com.
