Donald N. "Doc" Ritter, 87, of Winfield, passed away Oct. 9, 2025, after an extended battle with cancer.
He was born June 17, 1938, and was a son of the late Miles and Esther (Oldt) Ritter.
Doc married his first wife, Nancy (Bennett) Ritter, on Jan. 8, 1955. They shared 52 years of marriage before her passing in 2007. He married his second wife, Betty Hagenbuch, in July 2008.
He attended Mifflinburg High School. He worked hard to provide for his family at the Faylor Middlecreek Quarry for many years until a cancer diagnosis in 1995.
He was a member of the Selinsgrove Moose and Eagles in Milton.
Doc took great pride in his home and his garden. If the weather was good you would most likely found him outside.
He also loved visits from his family and was known to show up early for baby showers, graduations and birthdays.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Betty, are four children, Freda (Michael) Miller, of Orlando, Fla., Louise DeHart and her sidekick Ron Pursely, of Middleburg, Donald T. Ritter, of Milton, and his companion Penny Golder, and Neil (Stephanie) Ritter, of Watsontown; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren with one on the way; one great-great-grandchild and one on the way; one sister, Eva R. Bennett; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Nancy, he was preceded in death by siblings Jenny (Ritter) Eberhart, Olive June (Ritter) Musser, Eugene Ritter and a stillborn brother and one great-grandchild, Sarah Buck.
Graveside services will be private and held at the convenience of the family at Paradise Cemetery.
