Donald C. Wakeling, Sr., age 72, of York, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on October 3, 2024. He was the loving husband of Karen A. (Deardorff) Wakeling; together they shared over 50 years of marriage.
Donald was born in Philadelphia, PA on November 10, 1951 and was the son of the late Donald and Mary (Watt) Wakeling. He graduated from York VoTech Class of 1969 and owned and operated Fleet Maintenance Technology. He was a member of the Isaak Walton League - York Chapter and Central Penn Sporting Clays. Donald was also an avid fisherman and duck hunter and enjoyed his Nova Scotia Duck Trolling Retrievers.
In addition to his loving wife Karen, Donald is survived by his son Donald C. Wakeling, Jr. and partner Tina Vera; his daughter Jodi Giuffrida and husband James; and his grandchildren Michael Wakeling, Jasmine Orris, Gracie Giuffrida, James Giuffrida, II, and Ashley Wakeling. He is also survived by his brothers Stanley, Kenny and Bruce Wakeling; and numerous nieces and nephews. Donald was preceded in death by his sister Debra (Non); and his brother-in-law Tom Deardorff.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a gathering in celebration of Donald's life on Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 1:00PM – 3:00PM at Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., of East York, 3670 E. Market St., York PA 17402. Funeral services and interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Donald's memory may be made to the Isaak Walton League, 7133 Iron Stone Hill Rd., Dallastown, PA 17313.
