Donald Calvin Walker passed away on May 17, 2025 in Plano, Texas. Born March 25,
1945, in Ponca City, Oklahoma to June and R. C. Walker. He was preceded in death by
his beloved Grandmother Fannie Fallot, parents, June and R. C. Walker, and brother J.
Pat Walker.
Don's career as a Real Estate Property Tax Consultant span more than 4 decades.
After graduating from Oklahoma State University, he began his career with Gulf Oil in
Los Angeles, California. After moving to Dallas, Don spent time with Marvin Poer &
Company and Joe Grissaffi and Associates before founding Real Estate Tax Services,
Inc. with Lee Hodges and Garth Lewis. Don spent the last two decades in solo practice
retiring in 2022.
An avid golfer, Don was always in his happy place on a golf course. He played most of
the best golf courses throughout his lifetime. For several years he worked with The First
Tee of Dallas as a golf instructor. He relished in being known as Coach Don to the
young players he worked with.
Don is survived by his wife, Phyllis of Plano, Jackie and Brett Walker of Dallas and their
children, Jack and Kate. Kari Walker-Higgins and Chris Higgins of Dallas and their son,
Eli. Brother Paul Walker and his wife Jeanie, Brother-in-law Jerald Burkett and his wife
Becky. Numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, June 24 at 1:00 p.m. in Hasley Chapel at
St. Andrew Methodist Church, 5801 W. Plano Parkway, Plano, TX 75093. Visitation will
follow the service in Piro Hall and at the Walker Home, 6644 Winged Foot Way, Plano, TX 75093
