Donald was born on June 25, 1947, in Portales, NM to Vernon Leroy Wimberly and Onie Goode. He married his wife of 45 years, Shirley Putman, on December 28, 1979, in Ruidoso, NM, and served in the Army. Donald enjoyed playing softball, watching the Dallas Cowboys, was a member of VFW 3280, American Legion number 117, Post 25, loved sports, especially Clovis Wildcats.
He is survived by his wife; Shirley Wimberly of the home, son; Shawn Wimberly (Felicia) of Clovis, NM, sister; Gennie Garrett of Clovis, NM, grandchildren; Ryan Wimberly (K'la), Elina Rojas (Daniel), Jakob Wimberly, sister-in-law; Nancy Jackson of Friona, TX, and a good friend; Jonathan Self.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; Vernon Leroy Wimberly, Onie Goode, brother; Gerald Wimberly, and two twins; Justin and Dustin Wimberly.
