Jose was born on May 28, 1936, to Cecilio Lucero and Frances Ahuero in Rociada, NM. He proudly served in the Army National Guard. Jose married Adelina Apodoca in Las Vegas, NM. He enjoyed boxing and he was a 2-time golden glove champion. Jose was a collector of oddities, carving and making cane. He was very creative.
Survivors include his three children; Glenda Meeks (Bob), Liza Snider (Kyle), Jim Lucero (Christi), brother; Leroy Lucero, sister; Lorraine Gutierrez, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his spouse; Adelina Apodoca, his parents; Cecilio Lucero and Frances Lucero, sisters; Ida Aderete, Mary Lucero and Ruby Torres, brothers; Tony Lucero, Cecilio Lucero, Jr. and Eusebio Lucero.
