He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Robert Wolters, Charles Wolters, brother-in-law David Linton, and father and mother-in-law Vernon "Woody" and Katherine Woodruff.
Donald graduated from St. John's High School in Maria Stein with the class of 1954. He proudly served his country in the United States Army in 1956 and was honorably discharged in 1958. He was formerly employed at New Idea in the office and Chickasaw Hardware Store and he retired in 1998. He was a member of the St. Sebastian Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society, former Franklin Township trustee, life member of the V.F.W. Post #9019 in Chickasaw, Celina Moose, and former trustee of the New Bremen Senior Citizens.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at the St. Sebastian Catholic Church, with Fr. Mark Hoying C.P.P.S. officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Sebastian Cemetery, with Military Honors. Friends and family may call from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 7, 2023 and from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the Lehman Dzendzel Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made out to the St. Peter Center for Neurological Development 78 Main St, Burkettsville, OH 45310. Condolences may be shared with the Wolters family online at LehmanDzendzelFH.com.
