Donato N. Muñoz, 74, of Austin, Texas passed away Sunday, October 12, 2025.

Don was born on April 7, 1951, in Pleasanton, Texas. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in the late summer of 1971. He served in the Vietnam War and earned himself a purple heart where he would recover in Hawaii. His favorite orders in service were in El Toro, California where he would fly in helicopters, delivering men and supplies. Additionally, he enjoyed doing light maintenance and working in the U.S. Pentagon in Washington D.C. His rank was Sergeant when he was Honorably Discharged in the summer of 1978. After the Corps, he became a first responder/fireman while attending Oklahoma State University and playing for their baseball team.

Don held many interesting jobs starting as a gas station serviceman in high school, followed by enlisting in the military. After finding a short career as a fireman, he was also a laborer before finishing his career in the Texas Comptroller's Office, retiring after 24 years. Throughout all this, he still managed to visit home often in Pleasanton to see his parents.

He enjoyed a simple life of God, family, and work. His hobbies were watching movies and his favorite tv shows. He enjoyed listening to and watching old videos of rock n' roll and country music. His favorite weekend programs included watching NASCAR and the Texas Longhorns football/baseball teams.

Sometime in 1991 Don would meet his future wife, Eusebia, in San Antonio. He married Eusebia Briceno on December 12, 1992, in San Antonio, Texas. Their daughter, Honey, would be born in early 2000. They enjoyed being parents and had a beautiful, loving marriage of 32 years. As a family, they would take road trips across the U.S. east to west, seeing anything and everything they could.

Don is preceded in death by his parents, Antonia & Pedro Muñoz, and sister Mary Lou Muñoz.

Don is survived by his wife Eusebia Briceno Muñoz, his daughter Honey Alexus Muñoz, brother Pedro Muñoz Jr., and sister Pauline Holt.
