Donna L. Kirby, age 85, of Peoria, IL, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at her home surrounded by family.
Donna was born on July 4, 1940, in Hallock Township, IL, to Ralph and Irene (née Burns) Carver. As a child, Donna had a feisty spirit, which continued throughout her life. Donna attended Dunlap Grade and High School where she was a cheerleader.

She married William J. "Bill" Kirby on December 5, 2004, in East Peoria, IL.
Donna was a beautician for 47 years, retiring in 2017. She served as the President of the Women's Auxiliary at the American Legion Post 983 where both Bill and her were extremely avid members.
Donna enjoyed watching Hallmark movies, completing the Journal Star crossword puzzle, and watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball. She also loved country music and dancing. Every year Donna looked forward to visiting Branson, Missouri.
Donna is survived by her husband of 20 years, William Kirby; sons: Jeff (Martha) Lowery, Scott (Connie) Lowery, Steve Lowery, Roger (Sharon) Lowery, Rodney (Jackie) Lowery, and Jon (Theresa) Lowery; step-children: Pete (Robin) Kirby, Laura (Doug) Rogers, Jerry (Donna) Kirby, Billy Kirby, Thommy Kirby, and Cheryl Davis; and sister, Phyllis Smith. She is further survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law, Lovey Lowery; brother-in-law, Merritt Smith; and great-granddaughter, Nora.
Donna was a family matriarch, and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to the nurses and staff with OSF Forest Park and OSF Hospice.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held at the American Legion Post 983 (101 Legion St. East Peoria, IL 61611) on Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery, Dunlap, IL, at a later date.
