She was born December 5, 1950 in Trenton, the daughter of the late Alphonse and Bernice (Baer) Schulte. She married Delain J. Martin July 6, 1974. He survives.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her children: David (Andrea) Martin of Mascoutah, Bradley Martin (significant other, Gabriel Flowers) of Highland and Kimberly Powell of Belleville; nine grandchildren: Kyle Martin, Brittany (Dusty) Shires, Eli Martin, Zackary Martin, Reese Martin, Kristen Powell, Kaleb Powell, Alexis Powell and Emily Powell; two great-grandchildren: Anastasia Shires and Liliana Powell; two sisters: Catherine (Marvin) Middendorf and Mary Jo Smith; and two brothers: Donald (Mary) Schulte and Russel Schulte.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Jameson Shires; two siblings: Joan Lee Schulte and Ralph Schulte; a sister-in-law, Darlene Schulte and a brother-in-law, Daryl Smith.
A memorial gathering will be held from 12-4 p.m. Sunday, August 27, 2023 at the Espenschied Chapel, 317 N. County Road, Mascoutah, IL.
