Donna Sue McNew, 78, of Chambersburg, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025, at her home. Born August 11, 1947, in Harlan, KY, she was the daughter of the late Keith and June J. Rhea Napier. Her beloved husband Foster R. McNew, whom she married on September 29, 1965, preceded her in death on July 26, 2010.
Donna was a 1965 graduate of Dreux American High School in France. She met her husband overseas while he was serving with the US Army, as was her father. She was employed in Fraud Detection with Citi Bank until her retirement. During her retirement, Donna volunteered her time at the Chambersburg Hospital. She also worked at the Butcher Shoppe and at Chambersburg Area School District. She enjoyed weekly dinner with her friends, attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and performances, and being with her family.
She is survived by three sons, Ron McNew of Hanover, PA, Brian McNew (Jennifer Eldridge) of Elizabethtown, PA, and Scott McNew (Jennifer) of Chambersburg; twelve grandchildren, Ben Peiffer, Jakki Peiffer, Cameron Easter, and Kaitlyn, Cassidy, Ayden, Tyson, Liam, Nolan, Natalie, Autumn and Jackson McNew; four great grandchildren, Rhonin, Christopher, Foster and Matthieu; and two siblings, Richard Napier (Jennifer) of Deale, MD, and Mary Minnich (Chuck) of Henderson, NV. Aside from her parents and husband, Donna was preceded in death by her daughter, Lori McNew-Chavis.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Rev. Randy Rhodes will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Lincoln Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 -8:00 PM on Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
