Donna M. Millette, 67, of Canterbury, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at Backus Hospital with her loving husband David by her side on August 20, 2024 after a fearless battle against lung cancer. In addition to David, Donna is survived by her mother Theresa Raiczyk, Daughters Tiffany Millette (Steve) and Crystal Kauffman (Faron), sons Justin Millette (Meghan) and Joshua Millette (Tayla), as well as eight grandchildren Alex, Nicholas, Tessa, Audrey, Andrew, Michael, Mason and Emmit. She is also survived by her brothers Mark and Anthony Pukalo.
Donna was born on October 12, 1956, at Backus Hospital. She was raised by her parents Theresa and Eugene in Canterbury, Connecticut and graduated from Windham High school. After high school, Donna attended Eastern Connecticut State University. In February of 1992 she would marry her eventual husband of 31 years, David. Donna and David raised their four children in Central Village, Connecticut. Donna managed McDonald's restaurants for many years in her early life before working as a substitute teacher. She ended her working career as a long time retail manager, most notably at EbLens.
Donna's greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother. She was a dedicated soccer mom, providing her children with a childhood filled with incredible youth sports experiences and memories. Her love for her grandchildren was pure, unconditional, and always reciprocated incredibly. Her grandkids loved to visit momma D or Mema. She was an incredible cook and took great pride in preparing a delicious home made meal whether it was dinner for the family or catering an entire family gathering herself. Donna had a great love for music. Any time there was music playing, you could find her tapping some part of her body to the rhythm of the song. Donna will be remembered as kind, thoughtful, honest, hardworking and resilient; but most of all, the most loving wife, mother, and grandmother that anyone could have asked for.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Donna's family from 4:00 PM- 8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 28th, 2024, in the Dougherty Brothers Funeral Home, 595 Norwich Rd. Plainfield, CT.
