It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved matriarch, Donna Lou Thiem Mullins, who left this world on January 25, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on October 4, 1947, in
Hamilton, Ohio, Donna lived a life filled with love, devotion, and an unwavering commitment to her family and community.
Donna was the eldest daughter of Donald and Lula Thiem, whose love and guidance shaped the incredible woman she became. Preceded in death by both her parents, Donna took the lessons of love and resilience they imparted and passed them on to her own family.
In June 1966, Donna married the love of her life, Carl L. Mullins. Their marriage spanned an impressive 60 years-a testament to their deep love, faith, and the unfaltering support they offered each other. Together, they built a warm and welcoming home, filled with laughter, joy, and the steadfast commitment to one another and their family. Their love served as an example to all who knew them.
Donna's legacy lives on through her three children: Cindi (Charles) Mason, Donald (Engle) Mullins, and Sarah (Paul) Bishop. She was the proud grandmother of eleven grandchildren: Seth (Ashlee) Mason, Taylor Mason, Hannah Mason Hitch, Peyton Mullins, Chase (Savanna) Mullins, Madilyn Bishop, Berkleigh Bishop, Ella Bishop, Emma Bishop, N. Bishop and K. Bishop and a loving great-grandmother to five great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren: Beau, Chandler, Chapel, Cannon, and Carleigh; Brenton and Ainslee. Each of them carries a piece of her spirit and wisdom, and her love will continue to guide them throughout their lives.
Donna was not only a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother but also a beloved sister to Hazel (Glenn) Yordy, Barbara (William) Schlichter, Tom (Becky) Thiem, and Dave (Lana) Thiem. She cherished her family ties, and her siblings were a significant part of her life, providing both support and companionship.
Throughout her life, Donna was actively involved in her community. Donna was a member of The Journey on Leestown under the leadership of Gary and Marcia Brown, she found fulfillment in connection. For 30 years, she worked in property management, where her dedication forged lasting relationships with tenants and colleagues alike. Her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering support touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on the community she served.
Donna was known for her strength, wisdom, and the quiet joy she found in everyday moments. She had an extraordinary ability to discover beauty in all circumstances, even amidst life's challenges. Above all else, her greatest joy came from gathering with family, relishing the love and blessings that filled her life. She was the true matriarch of her family, offering guidance and love that will resonate for generations to come.
She passed away peacefully after a brief illness. While her physical presence may be gone, her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Above all, Donna's life was anchored in her unshakeable faith in Jesus Christ. In every season, joyful or painful, she trusted Him completely, living with a steady confidence that came from knowing to whom she belonged. Her faith was not loud or performative, but deeply rooted and unwavering. Because she trusted Jesus as her own, she carried a quiet strength that made her a refuge for others. Donna was a fortress for her family, strong, prayerful, and steadfast, offering peace, wisdom, and love grounded in Christ. Even in suffering, her hope did not waver, as she lived with the assurance that this life was not the end. While we grieve her absence, we rejoice in the promise that she is now whole and healed, resting in the presence of the Savior she loved and trusted all her life.
Special memories of Donna that her family will cherish include her love of cooking, especially wild game harvested by her husband or grandsons, Sunday family dinners, fishing, teaching her grandchildren to swim, granddaughters how to sew, attending everyone's sports & extracurricular activities, family trips to their condo in Florida, and going to church all together as a family.
