Donna Overmyer Obituary
Donna Mae Overmyer, 82, of Allegan, Michigan, passed away Monday, January 13, 2025, at home in the presence of her loving children. She was born October 26, 1942, in Lake City, Michigan, to the late Ford and Mae (Schurman) Finkel. In 1960, Donna graduated high school in Grandville, Michigan. In 1961, she married the love of her life, the late Eugene "Ed" Overmyer Jr, and they spent fifty-six years of marriage together. Donna and Ed were long time residents of Jackson, Michigan, where they raised their three children. They moved to Columbus, Ohio, for several years, and later returned to reside in Allegan, Michigan.
Donna dedicated her life to being a mother and homemaker. She was a loving and supportive wife, and nurturing mother. She cooked with love and enjoyed entertaining family and friends. Donna was an avid reader and known for her many creative crafting projects. She was a woman of faith, and an active member of the First Congregational Church in Allegan, Michigan.
Donna is survived by her children, Kirk (Margit) Overmyer, Kristen (Darin) Reese, Erik Overmyer, ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and many friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Lucille "Lou" Warren, and two brothers, Lewis and David Finkel.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at the First Congregational Church in Allegan at 11:00 am. In lieu of floral tributes, memorial contributions may be made in Donna's name to the Congregational Kitchen, 323 Cutler Street, Allegan, Michigan 49010. Interment will take place at Hudson Corners Cemetery, Allegan Township, at a later date.
