Donna Marie Rego, 70, of Norfolk, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 12, 1955, in Fall River, Massachusetts, Donna was the cherished daughter of Noela (Michaud) Feijo and the late Vincent Feijo.
Donna's life was one filled with love, kindness, and resilience. She met every challenge with courage and a smile, even during her long and brave battle with stage 4 endometrial cancer. Her family will forever remember her as a fighter - someone who inspired others through her strength, generosity, and unwavering love.
She is survived by her devoted husband, George Rego Jr.; her beloved mother, Noela Feijo; her brother, Michael Feijo and his wife Linda; her children, Christopher, Rebecca, and Stephen; and her adored grandchildren, Alexandra and Xavier. Donna also leaves behind her precious cats, Timmy and Sunshine, and her "granddogs" Maxx, Sara, Charlotte, and King. She will also be deeply missed by her mother-in-law, Helen Rego, her brother-in-law Andrew Rego, her sisters-in-law Shirley Black and Marie Rego, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Vincent Feijo; father-in-law, George Rego; and her beloved granddog, Simon, with whom she shared a birthday - along with many other cherished pets who welcomed her home.
Donna's heart for service was evident in all she did. She gave generously of her time volunteering with Blessed Sacrament Church, helping in the food pantry and soup kitchen, and at the Norfolk Animal Care Center, where she found joy caring for animals in need. Professionally, she served her community for 20 years in food service with Norfolk Public Schools, followed by seven memorable years working at Busch Gardens.
When she was healthy, Donna loved Zumba and bike rides, as well as visiting her mother and spending time with family. She delighted in decorating her yard for every holiday - especially Christmas - and loved traveling, particularly going on cruises. At home, Donna enjoyed watching her favorite shows - Big Brother, Dancing with the Stars, Survivor, and her beloved Hallmark movies - as well as documentaries about ocean life, reflecting her deep appreciation for beauty and the world around her.
Donna's warmth, humor, and compassion touched everyone she met. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend whose presence made life brighter for all who knew her.
A celebration of Donna's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and the joy she brought to so many.
