Donna Lee Zeis, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully with loved ones by her side on July 29, 2025, from complications of liver disease. She was 75. Born on October 31, 1949, Donna was the beloved daughter of Peggy Bonner and Gaylen Edmondson. From the start, she lived and loved with a compassionate heart and a mischievous sense of humor. A good laugh was always close by, and she cherished every moment of fun with her family and friends. Donna's selfless nature extended far beyond her family and friends. She dedicated her life to caring for others as a nurse, a role she carried out with warmth, kindness, and grace. Her commitment to helping those who could not care for themselves was a defining part of her character. She raised two sons with her husband, Albert Eugene Zeis. Donna was her boys' biggest fan, never missing an activity and always cheering them on with a spirit and pride she never tried to hide. Her love for supporting others continued after her sons grew up, as she was often found on the sidelines cheering on children and grandchildren of friends and relatives. Donna found her deepest peace and joy in the Pennsylvania mountains at the Saunderosa Campground, where she spent the majority of her time on the large porch Gene built for her. From there, she loved watching everyone go by, laughing and making memories with her cherished campground friends and neighbors. She especially treasured visits from her grandchildren and great-granddaughter, who would play mini-golf, go swimming, and get ice cream with her-and, of course, she'd let them drive the golf cart. Every October, Donna looked forward to her special trip to Myrtle Beach to spend time with her brother, Mike, and sister-in-law, Pam, who she truly considered a sister and friend. She spent her time there relaxing, laughing, and enjoying great food, finding peace with the sand between her toes and the waves washing over her feet. Donna is survived by her loving sons, Douglas Zeis (Jodi) of Virginia and Albert Zeis Jr (Nicole) of Pennsylvania, as well as step daughters Brenda Zeger (Steve) of Pennsylvania, Cindy Zeis of New York, and Cathy Reasner (Bruce) of North Carolina. She leaves behind her grandchildren: Anthony Zeis (Hope) of Arizona; Noah Zeis, Logan Zeis (Abigail), and Morgan Zeis all of South Carolina; Austyn Zeis of Virginia; and Collin Zeis, Eleni Sweeley, Austin Gearhart, and Landon Gearhart of Pennsylvania. She is also survived by her beloved great-granddaughter, Madilyn Zeis of Arizona, and her brothers, Michael Edmondson (Pam) of North Carolina and Rodney Edmondson of Florida, along with many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, as well as her mother, father, and her brother, Gary Edmondson. A viewing for Donna will be held at Sellers Funeral Home, 297 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201, on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, with the family receiving visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Catholic Mass in honor of Donna's life will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, located at 320 Philadelphia Ave., in Chambersburg, on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a graveside burial at Parklawns Memorial Gardens located at 3218 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg. Following the burial, friends and family are welcome to join in fellowship and celebration of Donna's life at Chambersburg Memorial Park.
